Flowers!

I've wanted to crochet some flowers to put on my hats. I got about 5 or 6 of them with flowers when I gave them away. Here are 3 of them.

The first flower is from the book 100 Flowers to Knit & Crochet and the 2nd is a simple rosette pattern that can be found free at Lion's Brand Yarn. Sadly I did the 3rd one a long time ago and don't remember where I got the pattern. I think it came from another hat pattern and I just took the flower part and put it on that hat. I seem to have an easy time of crocheting the flower and then a hard time of putting them together. Usually takes me just as long to stitch them together correctly as it takes to crochet them! It's pretty much what kept me from making more flowers, I'd read the end and see what it took to finish it and if my brain stopped working, I'd move on to the next pattern. I think I need more flower practice.

Hat 29!!

Today I Finally after much procrastination dropped off my hats!!! My mom's birthday was on the 8th so I was 3 days late with her present. But as my husband said, she'd probably say "SOO?!?! I also took the Chemo nurses some doughnuts since they work hard and deserve something too! It's a nice big weight off my shoulder to get that done and I hope people like the hats I made.

Here's the last hat I made of all the hats I dropped off. This one is made out of some spare white and brown yarn and some green Eco yarn from Caron. Yes, I seem to be semi-addicted to that yarn. They come in such nice colors and the fact that it's soft and has no wool just makes it perfect for the hats. I just wish it came a little bit thicker. The flower is large, but I thought it went along nicely with the hat. And as usual, I put it on a pin so it's removable.

Hat 28

This is a pretty simple hat using the Bamboo yarn I have and a ball of some shiny white yarn that was in my yarn drawers. It looks much nicer than the picture shows since that white yarn is very pretty.

Hat 27

Here is a simple straight forward beanie hat made with a wool type yarn from my stash. Recently I got the book 100 Flowers to Knit & Crochet so figured the hat could use a little color. It was a pretty simple flower to make and I love how it looks on the hat. I also put the flower on a pin so you can take the flower off if you really aren't into it or want to move it to a different place.

Hat 26!

Yes Yes, I'm still working on my hats! And yes yes, It's December..so I've been pushing myself to get all the finishing touches done. They are about ready to go, made the tags, got all the pictures taken and either this week or next week I'll take them in. I was thinking that the 8th was my mom's birthday so that would be a nice birthday gift for her.

On to the hat! Here is hat 26 and it's made with Lion Brand's Homespun yarn in Colonial Blue.
I actually bought the yarn a long time ago when I first started crocheting and had a really hard time making a hat with it so gave it up and put it on the side. I figured I had a little practice with annoying yarns since then so I'd try again! I made sure to make it easy with a double crochet, but the holes are pretty small since the yarn is err..wiggly? The blue is so pretty, I love this simple hat for that alone. I made it a bit long so you can flip it up to make it tight on your head or you can make the brim short and have the hat a bit poofy. Made the top part slightly poofy in case someone wants to wear it that way. Ok, so maybe I didn't plan that part out, but turned out to be the case and I thought it looked pretty good that way too. Oh, and btw, that yarn is really soft, might have to buy some more next time I go to the store!
