Hat 124

I had some sport weight Red Heart baby yarn that was a pretty sparkly white and purple.  I just paired it with another baby yarn in light purple to match.

Hat 123

Whenever I go to the mainland I always try and stop in at Michael's and pick up some of their yarn.  I usually pick up a couple Impeccable yarns in an Ombre color.  I was left a few scraps of the them, but not enough to make a hat.  I mixed them all together to make this hat and added some off white to finish the job.  I think this is a combination of Neapolitan, Fresh Lilac and Sage Butter.  Turns out all together those colors mix really well.  Next time I'm there, I might be buying a bunch of them and mixing and matching them for fun.

Hat 122

Hat 122 is the same hat as Hat 110 which is the Shell Beanie Hat with a little brim added.  Instead of using the Caron One pound weight yarn in off white, I used Caron Simply Soft yarn for the whole hat and added a bit more of the Harlequin yarn because I love that color.  The pattern calls for a thicker weight yarn so I actually modified the pattern a little to add some shells so it wouldn't be so tight.

Christmas Crochet!

I've been pretty busy this season.  I made a set of Coasters for a friend and then found this great stocking pattern, Mini Motif Stocking on Ravelry (need acct) by Doris Chan Designs. I made a bunch of those for my husband to give the women at his work.  I made a few extra to randomly hand out whenever I want during the season.  Both the Coasters and the stockings were made using Caron simply soft yarn in all their wonderful colors!

Hat 121

Hat 121 was made using the pattern Chicago Headliner from Crochet today Magazine.  It's actually got a wire in it to keep the brim upright. I've never used wire in my hats before so it was a nice added change, though storing it was a bit harder than normal since I didn't want to bend it all out of shape.  I didn't much like the weird squiggles in the middle of the flower so replaced it with a little gold button.  Yarn used was Vanna's Choice yarn in Denim Mist.

Hat 120

Hat 120!!  Made with some Thick and Quick Lion Brand yarn.  I started the hat in regular rounds with black and then switched to the sideways hat with blue.  Big warm and comfy hat!

Hat 119!

For hat 119 I used the same Turkish yarn as Hat 109.   Though I do love how this hat looks, I think I like the Whirl hat look a bit better.  Looking at it now I realize I should have added a little flower or something on the side, but since I've already delivered this hat it's a bit too late now.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Well, not really.  Mom's birthday is on Sunday but since Chemo is closed on weekends I went to drop off hats 100-125 today.  Also brought the Nurses some Manapua since we got there a little before lunch.  I've already gotten started on the next batch so hopefully I won't feel so rushed as I did this year.  Though I've always got some crochet project on the burner, I want to always make sure I have enough time to make my hats.

Hat 118

Hat 118 is just a simple beanie hat.  I think the brown might be a Lion Brand yarn, but I'm not sure.  I bought it a while back to make a beard for a beard hat and had most of of it left over.  Wanted to pair it with a darker color to make it a bit more of a manly hat considering most my hats are a bit girly.

Hat 117

Hat 117 done with Lion Brand Homespun yarn in Painted Desert. I must say that I love homespun yarn, it's so soft and the colors are always so beautiful.  It took me a while to get used to crocheting with it, but now I always make a few in Homespun.

Hat 116

For hat 116 I used some Caron Simply Soft to make a simple hat. I thought it was a bit plain so added a brown band with some pom poms to add a little color to it.

Hat 115!

Hat 115 is the simple Easy Sideways Hat Pattern from Lion Brand Yarns but with a few extra rows added on the bottom to make it a little longer than it was originally.  The yarn is some very old Baby Red heart yarn I had gotten from one of my yarn buys and I paired it with some Vanna's Choice Yarn in Eggplant.
