Hat 40!!!

Hooray for Hat 40!  Well, I have a bunch of Red Heart Baby Clouds Yarn in Orchid from a previous project I worked on a while back.  Thought it might look good in a simple hat.  It's a DC and the holes are bit large, but I still like it and hope someone might still wear it.   I want to start working on a few flowers again to add to some of the hats and this one will be one that I add a flower too.  Maybe a bright yellow or pink flower to add a little extra special to it.

Hat 39!

Got back on the hat track and have been working hard. I had been worried that I wouldn't have 20 hats by December so spent a couple weeks crocheting my little heart out and now have 20 so I can relax and go back to making hats at my leisure.

Here is hat 39 made with twining some Caron simply soft in Denim wash and some fuzzy blue and yellow yarn together. The fuzzy yarn also has a little sparkle to it so it adds a little pizazz to the hat. Not too long ago I bought a few big buttons just for the fun of it and thought it might look kinda nice on this hat. Can't tell by the pictures, but the brim isn't all the way around, but just in the front so it's sort of like a cap. Whole thing done in double crochet, and since it's a bit thick since it's 2 yarns and one is slightly fuzzy, the holes shouldn't be too bad at all.

Hat 38

Hat 38 is made with the same yarn as hat 35. The Lion Brand Homespun Yarn in Painted desert. After making a comfort shawl with it and then that other hat, I still had some left over so made a quick DC hat out of it. The colors are much nicer than I could get a picture of and it's nice and soft. Even though homespun is a bit hard to work with, I always like the results.

Hat 37

This one started out as a little beanie, but I had the frilly yarn that matched the blue I was using so well that I decided to make it a little more girly. I'm think I used a HDC stitch on it. Not positive, but it sure looks like it from the picture. Either way, cute little summer hat.

Hat 36

Hat 36! This one took me a while for no real reason other than I kept putting it down since I wasn't sure what color to put with the green. Finally settled on a brown and white yarn I had a little left of. The green is the Caron Simply Soft Eco yarn that I tend to use a lot of. I didn't use a lot of the brown and white since it wasn't as soft as the green yarn.

Hat 35!

Here's hat 35 for my mom done with Lion's Brand Homespun Yarn in Painted Desert and Barley. I had done a Comfort Shawl for a friend in these colors and had a few extra scraps which I made into this slouch hat. It looks a bit holey since I used a DC around the bottom there, but I think it'll be okay since the yarn is pretty thick, and in regular light you can't really see the holes as well.

Hat 34

Hat 34 is one of my favorites. I used a HDC stitch on the hat and with the yarn used, I thought it came out beautifully. I think I'll start using that stitch a lot more on hats because I just find it so very pretty. The yarns were pretty different from each other, so I was a bit worried in the beginning. It wasn't until the middle of the hat I finally figured out that they went together well.

Hat 33

Bucket Hat! I love bucket hats. This was a fairly simple hat done with Caron Eco Yarn. I was thinking about adding another color or yarn to it, but while crocheting, I liked the way it was looking on it's own.

I was also goofing around with different stitches on this one too... On the very top it's SC, then I switched to SC DC SC for a few rows to give it a little puff, and back to SC on the sides, then ending with DC on the brim. In the end a simple and comfy hat!

Hat 32

Hat 32 for mom is done with my Bamboo yarn. I'll be pretty unhappy when that yarn runs out. I have a few balls left. I'll have to find a replacement when the time comes.

I had bought some little heart beads when I made a bunch of heart Amigurumis and I wanted to see if I could add them to my hat. The beads pop out a bit on the hat because I didn't want it to touch and irritate the skin when someone wore it. It's my first time working with beads and though I like the hat, not sure if I'll make more. Maybe if I bought some small beads, but it was a bit of a hassle just doing the hat, not sure if I want to deal with even more beads! Plus I have to find small beads that the yarn will fit through the hole. We shall see if the temptation hits me next time I go to the craft store. :)

Hat 31

Hat 31 looks a bit like Hat #2 because I used some of the same yarn. I paired it with some Caron Eco Yarn and I think it could be good for both men and women...AND, I've gotten much better at making striped hats, so Hooray! I used the yarn again because every time I open the drawer I pull it out since it's so pretty, and I think I have a little bit left so may use it for another hat later on.
