Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my Mama's birthday! Yesterday I went and dropped my hats off at the Chemo ward, along with some doughnuts for the nurses!  Today is always a hard day for me, but making the hats makes it just a tiny bit easier.  I miss you mom!

Hat 250

Last hat of the year made with some homespun yarn plus some other yarn I picked up from the mainland! Made it slightly larger so can be worn as a slouch hat!

Hat 249

Hard to figure out how to use the Sashay yarn in hats where it's not one giant poof hat.  So spun it around and crocheted it in then opened it up in the back to make a cute little poof!

Hat 248

I've had this yarn for a while and used in various hats.  Wanted to try and use it up, so made a whole hat with it!

Hat 247

Had a little extra of the Rainbow Boucle Yarn, not enought for a whole hat, so just added some black yarn to finish it off!

Hat 246

Using up the last of this beautiful soft Rainbow Boucle yarn! Added a pretty flower to give it something extra!

Hat 245

Just a simple Easy Sideways hat, but instead of closing it off, I made some cute little curly cues at the top!

Hat 244

A friend of mine gave me this really soft fuzzy yarn.  But I always worry that it might be itchy when in a hat.  So tried to make it mostly on the outside of the hat.  I call this hat Mossy Swamp!

Hat 243

Still have more of that Sashay yarn!  Wanted to make a fancy looking hat you could wear to a fancy brunch haha :)

Hat 242

Each color of this hat is a different stitch! I love the hats that I see where this is done and wanted to make one of my own! Pulled out all my Caron Simply Soft yarn colors and went to work!  Love this hat!

Hat 241!

I always love when some random Variegated yarn I have matches another yarn perfectly! I used the Mara pattern from Drops Design to make this hat, though didn't make the brim as large

Hat 240

Had some extra Variegated yarn and wanted to show off the pretty colors!  Made one of my favorite patterns "Give it a Whirl"!  I love both the pattern and the colors of this hat!

Hat 239

Super soft Homespun yarn with a little extra yarn for color!

Hat 238

After learning the Spike stitch, I wanted to make a few hats to try different patterns with it!

Hat 237

Simple Striped hat using bright Caron Simply Soft yarns!  Wanted to make something spring looking!

Hat 236

Hat 236!  No pattern, just messing around with the Spike stitch!

Hat 235

When buying random bags of yarn, there are a few with lace instead of yarn! I didn't really know what to do with it, so I just used it as a bulky yarn, then on the last row there, crocheted it with extra stitches so I could poof it out!  Nice Sweet Easter hat!

Hat 234

So I really can't remember how I made this hat!  At the time I was experimenting with different fun styles and came up with this, but honestly have no clue what I did.  Maybe i'll remember one day!

Hat 233

I had some old yarn that was actually a bunch of different colored threads and thin yarn in one ball.  I don't have too much of it left so I added some white to make a nice summer hat!

Hat 232

Hat 232 is a very pretty hat made with 2 different types of variegated yarns crocheted together with a black single crochet between the rows to make it all stand out a little more!

Hat 231

Another simple beanie using peach and blue baby yarn together then once the blue ran out, finished with the peach!  Added a nice flower for extra prettiness!

Hat 230!

I think this is one of my favorite hats ever!  I used some sashay yarn and through trial and error I was able to make a pretty flower shape appear!  I added some bulky red and white yarn to finish the hat!  I love this hat!

Hat 229

Always good to have a couple simple beanies in the hat bag! Helps if you have a lot of different blues!
