Harry Potter hat

Still been making hats, but need to get around to taking some more pictures. I made this hat (camera phone pic) for my nephew's birthday. He's into Harry potter so used the Gryffindor colors. I was gonna make a slytherin hat, but Matt convinced me that he would want to be one of the good guys.

Hat 13

So this one is made out of a thick slightly fuzzy yarn. It actually might work more in cold weather. I was thinking about putting a little puff ball on the top of it, but decided against it. Then it would look too much like a winter or ski hat.

Hat 12

Though this hat looks kinda pinkish (at least on my monitor), it's actually white. The black fuzzy part is nice and shiny sparkly. I was trying to go for a more stylish look, not sure if I achieved it, maybe if I had gone a different style. Will have to try using that black sparkly yarn on something else to see. Either way, I like it :)

Hat 11

For this hat, I used a pattern..
The Popcorn Classic Hat from Purple Kitty Yarn's Free Vintage Patterns
Though actually, instead of doing the popcorn part, I just used a fun yarn that popped out. I'm especially proud of this hat just because, well..just because I followed a pattern and it turned out so nice! I was thinking about making the matching purse also in the pattern, but decided I should just keep working on hats at the moment before I start branching out. Maybe I'll try it again later and then make the little bag. I must say, it is a pretty cute bag.

Hat 10!!

Hat number 10! Now this one is way cute. And yes, I had run out of the fuzzy yarn there, so found some baby soft yarn to finish it with. I think it looks pretty neat this way so I'm glad I ran out of the fuzzy yarn. And, of course..baby soft and all.

I'm hoping to have 20 hats minimum by the middle of June when I'm dropping off the hats, but we shall see if I actually do it. I'm pretty sure I can and if anything, I'll be crocheting like a madwoman the first week of June. :)

Hat 9

Annd here is hat #9 for my mama. The yarn is a very very soft yarn and it's light so this will be a nice hat in the summer. It's pretty basic, but I didn't want to mess up the nice yarn with some other random yarn and lose that softness that it has. And I shall call this..Comfy hat!

Matching yarns

Even though I have tons of different yarns, it's been actually kinda hard matching them up. Either the colors don't go or the texture doesn't. I spend a lot of time sitting on the floor surrounded by yarn trying to pair two together. So I went and bought some yarn HA! http://www.elann.com had a sale on some 70% Bamboo/ 30% Cotton yarn. I looove bamboo, it's the softest stuff ever. So I bought 2 bags of 10 balls. One in black and one in grey. I wanted to get it in a ivory or tan, but they said it goes on sale at 9:30 and I didn't go to buy it till around noon. I didn't think it would all sell out. Oh well. I'm still happy with the two colors I have. I keep going back to check what colors are left (orange, yellow and pink) and stopping myself from buying them just to have. Maybe they'll get some more in of the regular colors and this time, I won't dilly dally!

Hat 8

Here is hat 8 for mom. I made the hat first, but thought it needed a little bit extra so made a little flower to add. I made it so the flower can come off in case you aren't all that into flowers and stuff. I think with the colors and style, this one is my favorite so far.
