Hat 258

I have a lot of this yarn since I planned on making a blanket for a friend's wedding gift.  After I started it, I thought it might not really be his style at all so now I have a bunch of this yarn for hats!

Hat 257

Had some more of the feathery yarn from a friend so added a little to a simple hdc hat!

Hat 256

Yesterday I went and dropped off all my hats at the Chemo ward! Also brought the nurses some Manapuas that they could  snack on. Now i have tons of other projects to finish before the end of the year!

Hat 256 is just a basic beanie hat.  I added some cute buttons and tried to make little crocheted stems, but couldn't get it to look like what I wanted.  It's still cute, but I still want to figure out another way of doing something similar.

Hat 255

Simple Beanie!

Hat 254

I have a friend that loves doing crafts until she gets bored.  She took up crochet for a little while and made a couple things until she got tired of it.  This left her with a slight yarn addiction and she'll sometimes buy yarn that is cute and fun, really soft or with the thought of making things!  Eventually she'll realize it's just gathering dust and I get to be the lucky person that benefits from her addiction!
This hat was made with one of her yarns, and I paired it with some regular yarn because I wasn't sure how soft it would be by itself.

Hat 253

Hat 253!!  I had this yarn forever and had no clue what to do with it.  I finally figured, I'll just make a fun silly little hat!  I'm not sure if anyone will like this hat, but I just know that I do!  I had this yarn in white, so I actually made myself a similar hat because I thought it was so cute silly!  Looking at it now, it looks like a tribbles so I guess it's my Star Trek Tribble Hat!

Hat 252

Black hat with the last of a really pretty red and blue yarn I've had for a while.  Add a few buttons and done!

Hat 251!

Most of my hats are made with a HDC this year and I don't think I used any patterns. Simple hat that gets a boost from cute buttons!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Yesterday was Mom's Birthday!  It was a Sunday so I wasn't able to take my hats in.  I plan on going tomorrow with my sister.  It's been a tough year and I was down the wire on the last few hats, but luckily I was able to finish all of them in time!  It was a hot hot summer, so a lot of the hats this year are a bit holey because I tend to crochet airy hats when it's hot. I have so much yarn that I really didn't buy much for my hats, just tried to use up some of the yarn I have, so a lot of the hats have yarn that I have no clue what it is or where I got!  I also bought a bunch of cute buttons this year so I threw them on a lot of the hats for fun!   Happy Birthday Mom, I miss you

Disney Fish Extender Gifts!

Breakdown of what I did to make the FE gifts from my previous post!
https://hatsformom.blogspot.com/2019/03/

Items used
Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast Resin
Small eye screws
1" hole punch
Satin Ribbon
Satin Cord (2mm & 1mm)
Feather or Eyelash yarn
Key-chains
Glue-gun

Resin "Buttons" used for making magnets, buttons, and charms.
I bought some Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast Resin off amazon after seeing this DIY post of making Resin pins.  I printed out 1" circles from my printer and used a hole punch to get nice little circles of differing pictures.

Women - Crochet lei
I made a lot of the leis using the Easy Spiral Crochet Lei pattern using 2mm Satin cord.  I got a large lot off of Ebay for a very good price, so i was able to make all different colors.  I would wrap around a single strand of the either the satin cord, eyelash yarn or feather yarn to make it a bit nicer.

Satin Flowers for Crochet Lei
I used Nbeads Satin Ribbon Flower tutorial but just did one flower instead of 2.  After making the flower I would use a glue-gun to put a button on the middle of the flower and then a pin on the back.

Men - Key-chain
I also got some small eye screws to make charms and key-chains. I would glue both sides together with the eye screw glued in between, then resin 1 side, let dry, and resin the other side.  If the eye screw seemed a bit loose, I'd do another coat of just the edges so it wouldn't fall out.  Add a key-chain and it was done!

Kids - Bracelet with Charm
I used the same lei pattern but with a thinner cord to make the bracelets.  Made a adjustable sliding knot at the end and then added the Resin Charms.

That was everything!  Not sure if everyone liked their gifts, but it was fun learning different crafts and how to make Crochet Leis!
