Hat 80!

Here is hat 80!  Made with some Red Heart Soft Yarn in light grey heather and some cute feather yarn in shiny pastels.   I think the feather yarn is so pretty but haven't really had a chance to use it, so I thought I'd try a little extra on this hat.  I might have added more but I'm worried it might make it a little itchy to wear.

Hat 79

For this hat I just used some basic acrylic yarn I had lying around and used a edging in Crochet Edgings and Trims book.  I like the way it came out, simple with a little extra.

Hat 78!

Hat 78 was done with some regular acrylic yarn that I had in my stash.  The light green almost feels like soft shoelaces.  Being that it was light and soft, I wanted to keep that part of the hat so just did a double crochet for that yarn.

Hat 77

Hat done with some real ultra soft and light bamboo yarn in light pink and Caron Simply soft yarn.  I really like this hat both for it's bright pinkness but also since it's comfy and light so really great for hot days.  The light pink bamboo yarn was a done in 2 rows of DC stitch and the Caron in one row of SC.

Hat 76

Christmas is done and made a bunch of snowflakes to give out.  I didn't take any pics but got all my patterns from Snowcatcher Snowflake Directory.  I plan on buying her pdf books so I can crochet a bunch more for next year.

Fresh start on a new batch of hats! Hat #76 is a simple beanie done with Michaels' Impeccable in Sage butter.  I really wish we had a Michaels here, but oh well, will just have to stock up a bit more next time I take a trip.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is mom's birthday and I went and dropped off hats 51-75 at the Kaiser Chemo ward.    I'm hoping they  like my hats and they are comfy enough.  Now to begin work on my next round of hats for next year.    At the moment though I'm working on snowflakes to give out for Xmas.  They are both easy to do and frustrating at the same time.  Working with crochet thread takes some patience for me.

Hat 75!

This week is mom's birthday so I'm going to try and take 25 hats into the chemo ward.  I was thinking about taking it to where they do radiation treatments, but after emailing them got no response.  It's a different hospital and not sure about their rules on bringing in homemade items for patients.   If they do get back to me by Thursday I will go there instead, but so far it'll be the Chemo ward over at Kaiser.

Anyway, here is hat 75 done with some Caron Super soft yarn and the last of the green yarn that I used in hat 19.  My favorite color is green so I definitely love this hat.  You can't see it very well but the green yarn also has a little sparkle to it to add a little extra.

Hat 74 is just a simple bucket hat using some grey yarns I had gotten. Not sure on the brands.  Everything done with a HDC stitch.

Hat 73

When I first started crocheting I bought a cone of Chenille yarn off of ebay.  Not knowing anything about yarn it came and was way too thin for me.  So I paired it with another thin yarn and made this hat.  It's a bit holy since I used a DC but since the yarn was so light I wanted the hat to be light and cool.

Hat 72

For hat 72 I used my new book Crochet Edgings and Trims again.   I used a HDC stitch throughout then ended with the "Papyrus Fans" trim.  I think it makes it look a bit like a flapper hat.  The yarn is a very soft Bamboo yarn I had, I love love love bamboo yarn.
