Hat 50!!!

Made it to hat 50!! Yay!

So this yarn is the Michaels' Impeccable yarn that I picked up while in Massachusetts. I tried pairing it with other colors and re-started it about 4 times until I realized I liked it by itself the best. I made a cute little bucket hat out of it with just a simple single crochet stitch. I love the pattern and the colors on this hat. I have a couple more patterned yarns that I got there which I can't wait to try.

Hat 49

So, with hat 49, I was looking at my yellow yarn and wanted to make a hat that gave you the idea of a sun. The yarn is all Caron Simply Soft yarn in 3 different colors. The whole hat is done in a HDC stitch. The red goes throughout the entire thing and I would add in the yellow and orange for the stripes. It's a bright hat and I think I got the sun idea down pretty well. The Caron yarn is always a little too thin so pairing it with another yarn or another color seems to work nicely.

Hat 48

So I took a vacation to Massachusetts and bought some yarn over there to make a few hats on the drives and plane ride. I had brought with me the last of my Homespun in Edwardian and stopped by Michaels' and picked up some Impeccable yarn in grey. I really wish we had a Michaels' here in Hawaii. So many colors and types and not too expensive!
Anyway, the grey was done with a HDC stitch and the Homespun in a DC. I really like the way this hat turned out. I almost had my sister steal it since we were so cold over there. I may make a similar one for myself at a later date since I still have that grey yarn left.

Hat 47

Here is hat 47!! I had a ribbon denim looking yarn and so I started off with that until I ran out. I figure the grey fuzzy yarn matched a bit and added that. The end product looked a bit Russian which I thought was kinda fun. Top is a HDC stitch and the fuzzy yarn is a DC.

Hat 46!

Here is hat 46! The yarn is Lion Brand's Vanna's Choice Yarn in white and olive. The pattern is from Simple Bean's blog where she takes the Durango pattern and adds a different band.

Hat 45!

So, hat 45! I had a nice light soft semi-fuzzy yarn and had been thinking of what to pair it with. But the yarn is just so soft that I realized that it would be so nice just by itself. Used a DC on the whole thing since the fuzz will cover up the holes rather nicely.

Hat 44

So I still had some Red Heart Baby Clouds Yarn in Orchid left over from previous projects. So since I made the hat 40 and STILL had more, I figure use up what's left. This one was made as a mushroom type hat, but can also be used as a slouch hat. I used DC on the top part then changed to a HDC on the bottom. Though the holes are kinda large, the hat is very soft and comfy and since it's somewhat big, I think the holes won't be so bad on this one.

Hat 43

So hat 43 was a hat I made sort of winging it. The top is done with a dark Aqua yarn I had and my Bamboo yarn. I made the top and realized it was turning way too large so figure a slouch hat would work. But by then I had run out of the dark aqua yarn. So I had some green acrylic yarn next to me that seemed to go somewhat well with the colors. The slouch didn't turn out as well as I'd liked, and if it's not a slouch hat, it's a mushroom hat.

Hat 42

Hat 42! The top is done with a HDC stitch with my bamboo yarn. I realized that I still had quite a bit of the light blue left and wanted to start using it. So paired it with some colored yarn I had and it turned out very pretty.

Hat 41

My 41st hat was pretty simple.  It was a thick black yarn with shiny white/silverish threads winding through it.  I paired it with a nice soft white yarn that matched the threads.  Everything done in a easy single crochet.
