So after I finished the heart blanket, I was looking at the Moroccan stitch over on Moogly and totally fell in love with it. I made a quick cowl using it and wanted to do more. I'll be visiting Korea this year and wanted to make a cousin a blanket. I've only met her once before so I wanted it to be more than just a plain stitch afghan with regular yarn.
I have been very stingy in using my pretty Turkish yarn, but I thought a blanket using it would be beautiful. Though I did add an extra HDC row between each Moroccan stitch because I thought it might make the colors stand out a bit more and also I wasn't sure if I had enough of the variegated yarn to make the blanket as big as I wanted. Turns out I shouldn't have worried, I still have 2-3 skeins left!

Heart Blanket
So far this year I've been very behind on my hat making. I've finally got around to trying a few patterns that I've had on file. I'll have to punch up my hat making once I finish all the projects I'm working on, but I don't think it'll be that much of a problem. If anything, my hats will be a bit simpler this year.
Here's my first project done this year; I love scraps heart blanket at Crochet World Magazine.
I have a bunch of Red heart supersaver yarn that I can't use for hats since I don't find it soft enough. So I used a bunch of the different colors I had to make a pretty girly blanket. I also washed it a couple times in conditioner to try and soften it up and it seemed to work pretty nicely. Now I just need to find someone to give it to!

Hat 125
Happy New Year! Hat 125 is the last of the batch that went out this past December! I've already started on the new batch and though I have a couple projects I want to do this year, I'm hoping I won't cut it as close as I did this last year.
A while back I did the Crochet Fusion Blanket and had a few quilted/crocheted squares extra so put them into a hat. I still have a few more lying around so I'll probably do a couple more similar to these until I use up all the squares.

Hat 124
I had some sport weight Red Heart baby yarn that was a pretty sparkly white and purple. I just paired it with another baby yarn in light purple to match.

Hat 123
Whenever I go to the mainland I always try and stop in at Michael's and pick up some of their yarn. I usually pick up a couple Impeccable yarns in an Ombre color. I was left a few scraps of the them, but not enough to make a hat. I mixed them all together to make this hat and added some off white to finish the job. I think this is a combination of Neapolitan, Fresh Lilac and Sage Butter. Turns out all together those colors mix really well. Next time I'm there, I might be buying a bunch of them and mixing and matching them for fun.

Hat 122
Hat 122 is the same hat as Hat 110 which is the Shell Beanie Hat with a little brim added. Instead of using the Caron One pound weight yarn in off white, I used Caron Simply Soft yarn for the whole hat and added a bit more of the Harlequin yarn because I love that color. The pattern calls for a thicker weight yarn so I actually modified the pattern a little to add some shells so it wouldn't be so tight.

Christmas Crochet!
I've been pretty busy this season. I made a set of Coasters for a friend and then found this great stocking pattern, Mini Motif Stocking on Ravelry (need acct) by Doris Chan Designs. I made a bunch of those for my husband to give the women at his work. I made a few extra to randomly hand out whenever I want during the season. Both the Coasters and the stockings were made using Caron simply soft yarn in all their wonderful colors!
Hat 121
Hat 121 was made using the pattern Chicago Headliner from Crochet today Magazine. It's actually got a wire in it to keep the brim upright. I've never used wire in my hats before so it was a nice added change, though storing it was a bit harder than normal since I didn't want to bend it all out of shape. I didn't much like the weird squiggles in the middle of the flower so replaced it with a little gold button. Yarn used was Vanna's Choice yarn in Denim Mist.

Hat 120
Hat 120!! Made with some Thick and Quick Lion Brand yarn. I started the hat in regular rounds with black and then switched to the sideways hat with blue. Big warm and comfy hat!

Hat 119!
For hat 119 I used the same Turkish yarn as Hat 109. Though I do love how this hat looks, I think I like the Whirl hat look a bit better. Looking at it now I realize I should have added a little flower or something on the side, but since I've already delivered this hat it's a bit too late now.
